Laboratory for Information and Cognitive Science

LICS is an non-formal interdisciplinary group of researchers working mostly at the Department of Information and Library Studies, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University.

It brings together researchers with backgrounds as diverse as Psychology, Information Science, Cartography, or Pedagogy. It aims to conduct research in basic as well as applied areas.

As part of the 10th International Conference on Cartography & GIS, held on 14–19 June 2026 in Nessebar, Bulgaria, the final workshop of the project Social and Motivational Effects of Virtual Reality in Distance Education (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, project code MU TQ01000181) was successfully conducted.
